4.2: Taking Responsibility for Your Own Skin: Precautions!
Elsom Research skin-care products are intended to improve the appearance and well-being of your skin, but that is only possible if the products are used properly and if you are taking excellent care of your overall health. Many of the warnings that follow apply to all skin-care products.
Make sure that you thoroughly read and understand this booklet before using Elsom Research products. If you are not sure that you fully understood this booklet, please consult your retailer or call Elsom Research headquarters directly for clarifications.
Our products were made to help you achieve and maintain attractive and healthy
looking skin for a prolonged time. Do not misuse them, and do not use them
for applications that are not indicated for their use. The products are highly
concentrated
with beneficial ingredients and there is no need to use more than is recommended
in the hope of getting faster and stronger effects. The skin will not absorb
excessive material and you will only waste your product.
Although they are rich in vitamins, Elsom Research skin-care products are
not food supplements and should not be orally consumed. If you wish to consume
any ingredient as a food supplement, please get it in a formulation designed
for that purpose. It is possible to overdose on vitamins; if you eat these
products, you cannot be sure how much vitamins you consume. Other adverse effects
may also be caused.
The Elsom Research skin care line was formulated on the basis of extensive biomedical research on anti-aging and cancer. However, as skin care products for topical applications, they are formulated differently from medicines. We do not claim that these products can generate improvements identical to those produced by intravenous formulations or formulations designed for direct contact with cells in culture. Please note: Elsom Research skin care products are not medicine, neither were they designed to be medicine, nor do we claim that they have any medicinal properties.
Please check the label of any Elsom Research skin-care product you obtain for any product-specific precautions.
Keep all Elsom Research skin-care products away from children.
Keep all Elsom Research skin-care products out of the eyes. When so indicated, do not let the product come into contact with mucous membranes.
Before trying any product for the first time, read the list of ingredients. If you know in advance that you are sensitive to a certain ingredient, do not try any product containing that ingredient. Before using any product for the first time, try a small amount on a small area of your arm and wait 30-60 minutes; if redness or irritation occurs in the tested area, do not use the product. If a product is intended for facial use and has passed the test on your arm, apply a small amount to a small area on your face and wait 30-60 minutes again; if redness or irritation occurs in the tested area, do not use the product. Gradually increase the skin area on which you apply the product until you are sure that the product is not causing you any discomfort.
Please note that, while we carefully select our ingredients and formulate
our products to be both pleasant and beneficial, there may be some individuals
who simply cannot tolerate a certain ingredient. There is no product that identically
effects everyone. So that you can enjoy the full benefits of our products without
being subjected to discomfort, we strongly recommend that you test the products
for yourself. If you are not sure that you know how to do the testing or interpret
the results, please consult a dermatologist.
Do not attempt to use Elsom Research products as a cure for medical problems that you may have, and do not offer them to others as a medical cure even if you have the impression that the products had medicinal benefits for you. If you believe that the products were beneficial to you in a medicinal way, please report that to us and consult a physician about the medical problem which you believe was cured. Sometimes the impression of a "cure" may be wrong: do not let such an impression make you dismiss or avoid medical consultation or treatment which you would otherwise seek.
Do not test or use Elsom Research skin-care products in combination with other products. Before testing or using a product always wash the skin area that you intend to treat. Wash gently with a mild soap, and rinse the soap thoroughly with water even if the soap's labeling suggests that you may leave it on the skin. Do not use Elsom Research products on open wounds, or irritated skin, or skin that was subjected to chemical or mechanical exfoliation such as chemical peeling, alcohol cleansers, or harsh scrubs. If you tend to wash and scrub your skin excessively, your skin is likely to be irritated for long periods and we do not recommend that you use Elsom Research skin-care products.
If you have tried many skin-care products and they all cause you irritation and breakouts, and you want to switch to Elsom Research skin-care products, we recommend that you first consult a dermatologist. It is possible that the problem is not with the products you used but rather with your excessive cleaning or scrubbing habits that keep your skin constantly irritated, or you may have other medical reasons or adverse reactions with medications you take or food you eat.
Using Elsom Research skin-care products in combination with other products may diminish the Elsom products' efficacy and may also cause adverse effects. For example, alcohols, emulsifiers, and other ingredients used in other products may break the liposome formations in the Elsom Research skin-care products into micelles that do not have liposome power, or they may break their fine emulsions and form large oil droplets that cannot penetrate deeply into the skin and may even clog pores in the skin.
